About this site

Purpose

Here, I provide electronic resources and supplementary information to my PhD thesis submitted to the University of Edinburgh. This includes:

  • Additional data
  • The software implemented and used for individual-based simulations: SPoCS
  • Scripts written and used for approximate Bayesian computation (ABC) and analyses
  • I started my PhD with Nick Barton at the Institute of Evolutionary Biology of the University of Edinburgh (UoE) in January 2008. In October 2008, I moved to the Institute of Science and Technology (IST) Austria, together with Nick, but I kept being immatriculated at the UoE.

    Content

    The following content is available:

  • R code used to run examples 1 and 2 in chapter 2. More...
  • Additional data: census sizes and transfer events for Alpine ibex, as used in chapters 3 and 4 (More...), as well as those used in chapter 5 (More...)
  • Shell and R scripts used for ABC on a UNIX cluster for chapter 3 (More...) and chapter 4 (More...)
  • Mathematica, R and shell scripts used for analyses in chapter 5 (More...)
  • SPoCS, the program written and used for individual-based simulations of pedigrees and genetics, including an example and source code. More...
